Two of Indium Corporation’s experts will share their insights at SVC TechCon 2020, April 18-23, 2020, in Chicago, Ill., USA.
Indium is viewed as a critical metal for the indium-tin oxide (ITO) market and other coating applications. In her presentation, "Indium Metal: Supply and Demand Overview," Donna Vareha-Walsh, Director of Sales and Global Supply Chain and Trade Compliance, will discuss the plentiful global supply of indium and its recycling loop. She will also examine indium’s history of price volatility and the market reactions from the recent Fanya Metal Exchange auction. She will also include an overview of indium supply and demand drivers, as well as the impact of recycling efforts.
Dr. Robert Ploessl, Manager of Marketing and Technology Assessment and Product Manager, Compounds, will provide an overview of the products and services that Indium Corporation provides, with a focus on the vacuum coating industry. Indium Corporation’s solutions for the coating industry include metal shot for evaporation applications, indium, and gallium for the manufacture of indium-tin oxide (ITO) and indium-gallium-zinc oxide (IGZO) sputter targets, as well as sputter targets for the manufacturing of CIGS thin-film solar cells.
Vareha-Walsh is Director of Sales for Indium Corporation’s Metals, Compounds, Solar, and Recycling business unit. She also leads the Supply Chain and Trade Compliance functions. She is responsible for the sourcing and sales of critical raw materials, such as indium, gallium, germanium, tin, and silver for Indium Corporation’s manufacturing operations, as well as the trading and reclaim business. Vareha-Walsh has more than 15 years of metals market experience from numerous roles and responsibilities, including Director of Global Procurement for a global premium alloy company and Director of Metallurgical Operations and Procurement for a global tungsten based business. Additional experience includes finance responsibilities as a Business Unit Controller, sales expertise as Director of Sales and a New Business Development Manager, and participation in the metals recycling and scrap/reclaim markets. She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Duquesne University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
