Enterprise Network Equipment Market Projected to Reach $30.6B by 2020
June 19, 2015 | Global Industry Analysts Inc.Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Rising bandwidth requirements, expanding mobile workforce, growing base of mobile Internet devices, and accelerating shift towards wireless systems are expected to drive the global enterprise network equipment market to reach $30.6 billion by 2020, according to a new report by market analyst Global Industry Analysts Inc. (GIA).
On the other hand, demand for Ethernet switches and routers is declining due to emergence and growth in the popularity of wireless equipment. Strong demand for Internet-enabled devices and increasing adoption of virtualization technology are also driving growth in the market.
Growing bandwidth requirements is leading to a shift towards high-speed infrastructure. The emergence of 100GE switch ports and software is expected to result in the decline of 1GE, 10GE and 40GE switch ports in the Ethernet Switches market, with enterprises favoring advanced technology and features in their network. Pricing pressures are expected to subdue growth in the enterprise routers market.
Within the WLAN segment, adoption of 802.11ac standard continues to register overwhelming growth. High-speed wireless data transmission capabilities, competitive pricing and end-to-end product choices are driving adoption of 802.11ac standard over 802.11n standard. Also, webification of enterprise applications and consolidation of IT infrastructure are driving demand for application delivery controllers, especially WAN optimization controllers.
As stated by the new market research report on Enterprise Network Equipment, the United States represents the largest market Worldwide. Asia-Pacific ranks as the fastest growing market with a CAGR of 3% over the analysis period.
